Where do we go from here?

I am co-authoring a book about spiritual awakenings (more on this later). I wrote my whole chapter before the U.S. presidential election. I wrote it from a place of feeling divinely protected, I was aware of the suffering across the globe, but I felt hopeful that with Pluto completing its transit through Capricorn and moving into collective-focused Aquarius, that we were moving into a new era of community care and peace. I operated from a place of hope, from a place of knowing that if we each discover ourselves, our magic, our divinity, that we can then serve and heal the collective – through our voices, our thoughts, our actions, our compassion, our love, even our sacred rage.

I will find hope again, but now, I see truth. That we are so much further away from this collective consciousness of peace, of connection, of love, than I thought. I thought we could learn the lesson, evolve, without so much more suffering. I truly thought we were closer. We are so, so far away. Pluto has a way of unearthing the truth.

What does that mean for our individual spiritual practices? It will look differently for everyone, but self-actualization, finding peace within yourself, is for the express purpose of spreading that peace, sharing that peace, through vibration, through energy, yes, but also through action. We can’t follow disaster with despair (we can’t bypass our feelings either, we just can’t set up shop there). We can’t follow disaster with inaction. I’m not talking about action for action’s sake, or performativity, but divinely-inspired action. How are you uniquely qualified to serve the greater good? What do you have to offer that can lift others up? Can you educate? Can you advocate? Can you listen? Can you donate? Can you protect? What can you do? Do it. Do it. The world needs you. The world needs your light, your unique magic, your ideas, your love, your consciousness, your action.

We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. It’s time to stop waiting.
